The Senior Processing Assistant – Biller functions as a medical biller and bills all third-party payors and self-pay patients for all Health Services clinics and is responsible for processing and posting all third-party payors manually and electronically. This position will follow up on insurance denials, income verifications, and answering patient questions pertaining to insurance. The role of a Senior Processing Assistant – Biller also includes releasing information and faxing medical records as requested for settling inquiry from insurance companies, accepting payments, and processing refund requests to various insurances and patients.
Must be available to work during emergency situations.
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least 2 years of office assistant/data entry experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Medical Billing experience preferred.
Physical RequirementsMust be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 5 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
