This Paramedic position involves performing technical work such as driving an ambulance, rescuing and transporting the sick and injured, administering emergency medical care, maintaining records, preparing reports, and other related duties.
Responsibilities- Perform duties of an Emergency Medical Technician at the Paramedic level, operating an approved mobile medical unit, rescuing victims, and administering appropriate emergency medical care enroute to a hospital.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, apply necessary medical treatment to sick or injured persons, and transport them to medical facilities.
- Work under general supervision, with duties reviewed through observation, reports, and discussions regarding quality and effectiveness.
- Ability to promote good public relations and work effectively with citizens, doctors, and hospital staff.
- Ability to perform physical activities required, including lifting, bending, pulling, stooping, walking, and exerting up to 300 pounds of force with assistance.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Certification as a Paramedic by the North Carolina Medical Examiners Board.
- NIMS certifications 100, 200, 700, and 800.
- ACLS, PALS, and CPR certifications.
- High school diploma or GED.
