About

The Role

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and licensed Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS) to join our clinical team in Walnut Cove, NC. This role is responsible for delivering high‑quality clinical services in alignment with program standards, accreditation requirements, and evidence‑based treatment practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments addressing behavioral, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social needs.
  • Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic clinical record (ECR).
  • Participate in utilization review processes and provide required clinical documentation.
  • Support aftercare planning and outcomes data collection.
  • Contribute to program curriculum development, training initiatives, and clinical literature review.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation as required.
  • Conduct Level of Care Assessments (LOCAs).
  • Provide crisis intervention and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
  • Complete required trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Chemical Dependency, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Active LCAS (Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist) credential required.
  • Experience in substance use treatment strongly preferred; experience with trauma, mental health, or eating disorders is a plus.
