Position Summary
Responsible for creating the first impression of the organization's services to patients and families and other external customers. Essential duties may include scheduling, registration and insurance verification for both outpatient and inpatient services by collecting proper demographic information and securing authorizations for procedures. Acts as the primary liaison for patients receiving professional and hospital services at ECU Health.
Minimum RequirementsHigh School or Equivalent (GED) or higher is required.
Required- Excellent communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills required.
- Insurance Verification experience.
- 1 to 2 years of Registration and/or Billing experience within a healthcare setting is required.
- 3 to 5 years customer service experience is required.
- Experience with EPIC and medical office workflows.
- Experience with Microsoft Office/PC-based applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Associate Degree.
- Bachelors Degree.
12-hour shift 7a-7p and 7p-7a.
About ECU Health Chowan HospitalECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton is a 25-bed critical access hospital which provides programs and services to 110,000 people in 6 counties. The facility offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 15,000 patients per year and team members at the facility have access to a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
