Job DescriptionMetro is hiring a motivated and passionate Per Diem Supervising Occupational Therapist to oversee care provided by COTAs along the South Shore. The OT’s primary responsibility will be to perform initial evaluations, progress notes, and required supervisory visits for COTAs. This is a high‑need area with an immediate need for COTA supervision coverage. There is also the option to take on ongoing treatment visits in addition to the supervisory role, depending on your availability and interest.
This is a flexible per‑diem position, with competitive per‑visit rates for both evaluations and supervisory visits.
All levels of experience are encouraged to apply and will train the right new graduate.

- Accept and treat patients within your designated geographic area
- Perform initial evaluations, progress notes, and required supervisory visits for COTAs
- Provide 1:1 treatment
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs
- Deliver care that aligns with professional standards, agency policies, and the prescribed plan of care
- Educate family members, home health aides, and other caregivers on proper therapy techniques
- Plan, and carry out occupational therapy programs to maintain, improve or restore physical function, relieve pain, and prevent occupational dysfunction in patients
- Identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention
- Provide timely and accurate documentation for each visit
- Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit
- Must be willing to treat geriatric patients
- Occupational Therapist Program Graduate
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of New York or eligible
- Mandatory
Certifications:
First Aid, AED, and CPR Certifications - Home health experience is preferred but not required – Metro will provide a mentor to help with documentation and compliance
- Ability to travel to patients’ homes within the assigned geographic territory
- Strong communication skills between patients, support staff, and management, including timely responses via text, email, phone, etc.
