Direct Support Professional /Female Caregiver-Calabash Monday Through Saturday
Are you a compassionate caregiver looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)? Abound Health is seeking a dedicated female Direct Support Professional (DSP) or Personal Care Aide (PCA) to provide one‑on‑one support for two children in their home and community.
Client Information- 10-year-old female
- 8-year-old male
Summer Schedule (through mid-August):
- Monday–Saturday
- 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
School-Year Schedule (beginning mid-August):
- Monday–Friday
- 6:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
- 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Services will alternate between each child based on their schedules.
This position involves providing individualized support to help each child achieve personal, behavioral, and social goals while encouraging independence and community involvement. Experience with client-specific medical procedures is a plus, but all required specialized training will be provided by Abound Health.
Compensation- $18.00 per hour (non-negotiable)
- $1,000 Sign-On Bonus for employees averaging 20+ hours per week.
- Provide respectful personal care as needed, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
- Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques and equipment when required.
- Promote behavioral, social, and developmental goals.
- Support participation in community and recreational activities.
- Provide companionship and respite for the family.
- Complete required documentation and submit payroll information on time.
- Attend required training and staff development activities.
- Work independently in the client's home and community while maintaining professionalism.
- Female caregiver required for this position.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
- Experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) is preferred.
- Ability to pass criminal background, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
- Must be willing to provide personal care and perform lifting or transfers if required.
- CPR/First Aid certification is required; training is provided by Abound Health.
