Job Summary
Your job is more than a job. The ED Paramedic is responsible for administering prompt and efficient hospital care to the patient at an Advanced Life Support level. The role provides care under the direction of the department leader in the evaluation and treatment of patients, operating via in-person medical direction and standing orders (protocols) approved by the hospital. The ED Paramedic ensures optimal patient care and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities- Administer prompt and efficient hospital care at an Advanced Life Support level.
- Provide care under the direction of the department leader in evaluating and treating patients.
- Operate via in-person medical direction and standing orders approved by the hospital.
- Ensure optimal patient care and a positive patient experience.
- 1 year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic.
- Certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians – Paramedic level.
- Certified by the State of Louisiana as an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic level.
- American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider, ACLS and PALS/ENPC (NOEH will receive within 90 days).
- CPI obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association (NOEH will receive within 90 days).
- License and certification to practice as an emergency medical technician and paramedic in the state of Louisiana.
