Job Purpose and Summary

Within our Retail locations, Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence.

Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist patients and customers to deliver an exceptional experience. Technicians operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication.

Technician Responsibilities
  • Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care.
  • Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by the pharmacy leadership team.
  • Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to other stores.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing) where lawful and supported by required training and certification.
Immunization Responsibilities (Where Permissible)
  • Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
  • Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty for vaccination questions.
  • Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions; report per public health requirements.
  • Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.
  • Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age unless state board requires a higher minimum.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or equivalency program unless state board requires higher education.
Essential Functions
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Complete required training within designated timeframe.
  • Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information, ensure label accuracy.
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation: look for ways to help people, respond appropriately to patients’ reactions.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    use and understand verbal and written communication, active listening.
  • Mathematical Reasoning: use math to solve problems such as determining tablet counts and supply calculations.
  • Problem Resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action.
  • Physical Demands: mobile, lift up to 20 lbs, repetitive finger use, maintain visual acuity, etc.
  • Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations.

The typical pay range for this role is: $16.00 – $24.00 per hour.
