Financial Counselor I - Saratoga Hospital

Salary Range: $46,215.00 - $60,080.00

• Provide financial counseling services regarding payment arrangements and financial assistance for uninsured or underinsured patients by phone or in person.
• Provide patients with application forms and explain required supporting documents.
• Work with internal and external entities to assist in obtaining financial assistance (Patient Access, patient advocates, etc.).
• Review and process financial assistance applications using standardized checklists, ensuring all necessary documentation has been received and accurately calculating patients’ income level.
• Log and track submitted applications in the account management system and generate standard correspondence letters (e.g., application received, missing information requests).
• Maintain financial assistance work queues and ensure they are processed within expected time frames, including reviews of applications and documents uploaded via MyChart.
• Maintain the cash drawer for the unit at Saratoga Hospital.
• Maintain financial assistance materials supply and inventory.
• Proficient use of Epic, OnBase, and other required platforms.
• Work independently under time constraints and deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Prioritize workload effectively.
• Meet daily and weekly productivity standards with acceptable QA results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree preferred.
