We are seeking an Ebola Response Operations Specialist to join our International Health Unit team in North Wilkesboro, NC
. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
  • Provide on-site DART leadership overseeing day-to-day operations of the two ETCs, the IPC training program, and related response functions, assuming manager-level responsibilities while deployed in the field.
  • Manage staff rotations and handovers by leading ETC staff handovers, conduct peer reviews, and ensure continued protocol adherence during each rotation.
  • Coordinate with external partners, maintaining and strengthening relationships with the DRC Public Health Emergency Operations Center (COUSP), the Ministry of Health, WHO, and other partners, participating in all coordination mechanisms.
  • Serve as IMT technical liaison, acting as a technical team member on the Ebola Response IMT, advising field leadership, and facilitating regular reporting loops between frontline ETC staff and IHQ IMT leadership.
  • Implement grant requirements by working with the IMT Response Manager, Awards Management Team, and Regional Leadership to execute the U.S. Department of State grant, handling data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Lead clinical case-management workflows by directing patient admission, monitoring, treatment adjustments, discharge planning, and safe burial coordination in line with Samaritan's Purse SOPs, WHO, and national MOH Ebola protocols.
  • Ensure patient-data quality and analytics by overseeing data collection, guaranteeing high-quality integration into DHIS2, and using clinical, IPC, and operational data to identify trends, improve workflows, and support leadership decisions.
  • Drive quality-improvement and training by supporting ongoing improvement in clinical case management, providing education on Viral Hemorrhagic Fever to DART and national staff, and evaluating adverse events.
  • Integrate multidisciplinary operations by coordinating clinical, IPC, WASH, logistics, pharmacy, laboratory, staffing, and administrative functions to sustain safe and efficient ETC operations.
  • Enforce IPC SOPs and risk mitigation by monitoring compliance with IPC practices, providing immediate feedback, identifying operational gaps, assigning corrective actions, and escalating risks or resource needs to field and IHQ leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned
What are the qualifications?

Serve with Excellence

  • Advanced clinical credential such as BSN, RN, or higher with clinical or public health experience in infectious diseases and three (3) years of international experience in outbreak response, IPC, or public health emergency operations; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Prior experience in humanitarian coordination required. WHO EMT, GOARN, or similar field collaboration experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience and proficiency in outbreak response and operations for viral hemorrhagic fevers or other high-consequence infectious diseases.
  • Twelve (12) credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies strongly preferred.
