Location: Whiteville
Public Health Educator I - Open until Filled Department:
Health Department Hiring Rate: $33,555.00
Salary Range: $35,232.00 - $50,331.00
- Assists in planning and implementing a program of community health education designed to help individuals and groups recognize and solve health problems through the proper selection and use of educational methods.
- Participates in workshops and conferences to define and promote community health needs.
- Prepares and presents talks on health topics and services provided by the health department to community groups.
- Collects health and community data to be used in planning public health and public health education programs.
- Assists in organizing community groups to study community problems.
- Implements the Teen Pregnancy Prevention evidence-based program in the county and city school systems.
- Performs work under the close supervision of a higher-level public health educator.
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in health education; or
- Graduation from a four-year college or university and completion of one year of on-the-job training as a public health educator.
