Job Summary

Work as a member of a strong team to provide care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Administers medications, changes dressings and provides wound care as well as liaison between providers and patients. Documents care delivery, patient condition, reaction and progress. Provides patient education, especially in regard to pharmaceuticals and supports the business goals of the practice.

• Provide patient care duties including medications, dressing changes, and wound care.
• Serve as liaison between providers and patients.
• Document care delivery and patient progress accurately.
• Educate patients about medications and related health information.

• Required Education and Certification: Graduate/Certification from one of the following: AAMA – Certified Medical Assistant (CMA); AMT – Registered Medical Assistant (RMA); ARMA – American Registry of Medical Assistants; NCCT – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA); AMCA – Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC); NHA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).

  Must have and maintain a current certification; BLS Certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Preferred Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience working in an ambulatory clinic; ability to function in a high stress, physically demanding setting.
• Work Conditions: In contact with patients and families during working hours, use of electrical biomedical machines and equipment, exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents minimal, exposure to biological hazards and patients with infectious diseases moderate, OSHA Category:
  Potential exposure to blood or body fluids.
