About the Role:As a Dietary Services Assistant, you will play a vital part in our dining services team, assisting with meal preparation, food storage and service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. With on-the-job training and certifications, you will have the opportunity to grow and advance your skills and career. Responsibilities:- Assist with meal preparation as scheduled, including preparing items that can be made in advance under the direction of the dietary technician
- Prepare special or modified diets as ordered on the dietary menus and in accordance with the diet ordered for each resident
- Assist with meal service as directed by the Dietary Technician
- Ensure that foods are stored and served at appropriate temperatures
- Help manage food inventory by rotating stock, as directed by the dietary technician
- Prepare snacks as ordered on the dietary menu for service by aides three times per day
- Respect all resident rights while preparing and serving meals
- Abide by the rules and regulations set by the department of health and human services and the department of environmental health
- Assist with cleaning all kitchen and dining room areas, and special assigned cleaning tasks as instructed by the dietary technician
- Ensure that all cooking materials and resident dinnerware is cleaned after each meal
- Participate in job-related training activities and perform other job-related duties as delegated by the supervisor and/or Administration
- Must be eligible for hire and receive facility orientation
- Must be able to lift up to 20lbs., stand for long periods of time, and perform bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching tasks
- Must be able to read and write
- Serve Safe certification within the last two (2) years preferred
