Manteo Community Health Center
, part of Ocracoke Health Centers, Inc., is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our nonprofit primary care team. Every day, we help patients throughout our community receive high-quality, affordable healthcare in a welcoming environment where relationships matter.
- Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)
- No evenings, weekends, or major holidays
- Starting pay of $17.00-$20.00/hour based on experience
- 14 days Paid Time Off
- Up to 5 Wellness Days each year for appointments, sick days, etc.

As a Medical Assistant, you'll work closely with our providers to deliver exceptional primary care while helping patients feel welcomed, informed, and cared for.
Responsibilities include:- Rooming patients and preparing them for their scheduled visits
- Obtaining and documenting medical histories, current medications, and vital signs
- Assisting providers with patient examinations and minor in-office procedures
- Collecting specimens and performing routine screenings and clinical tests
- Accurately documenting patient care and clinical information in Athena EMR (Electronic Medical Records system)
- Supporting efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
- Communicating professionally with patients, families, providers, and other members of the care team
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred but not required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A team player who enjoys helping others
- Experience in a medical office is helpful, but we encourage motivated candidates from healthcare or customer service backgrounds to apply
