Reports To: Director of Homecare
Bermuda Village Retirement Community is seeking a dependable and compassionate Full-Time Medication Technician to join our Resident Services team. This position is responsible for safely administering medications and treatments, monitoring residents, and completing accurate documentation while providing compassionate care and support to our residents.
Responsibilities- Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders, state regulations, and company policies.
- Accurately document medication administration and resident care.
- Manage and secure medications, including narcotic medications.
- Perform medication audits and assist with medication orders as needed.
- Monitor residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral conditions and report concerns promptly.
- Provide diabetic care, including blood sugar testing, insulin administration, and recognizing symptoms of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living and other needs when necessary.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests and concerns.
- Protect resident privacy and uphold resident rights.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, supervisors, and healthcare professionals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must possess a current Medication Technician/Medication Aide Certification required by the State of North Carolina.
- Must maintain all required licenses and certifications and complete continuing education requirements.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must meet all health and safety requirements.
- Must be able to perform job duties and responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be dependable, compassionate, and comfortable working with elderly residents.
- Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience working in a Supportive Care or senior living environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
