Tech Specialist Job Summary
- Performs laboratory procedures using established and approved protocols that require a high level of independent judgment and responsibility.
- The Clinical Technical Specialist performs at an advanced level requiring extensive knowledge in trouble shooting quality control, instrument and equipment failures, specimen collection problems, etc. Able to work independently.
- May be specialized in areas as blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, histology, or cytology, appropriate to the services provided and to the ages of the patients served
Tech Specialist Qualifications
- AS MLT degree or BS MLS/MT.
BS MLS/MT preferred. - Minimum 1 year work experience in a clinical laboratory
- Certification in medical technology or medical laboratory technology by a nationally recognized certification agency with active registration. ASCP or AMT.
