What We Offer
Patient Service CoordinatorDepartment: Urology
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM;
Friday, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
Location: Lexington/Thomasville, NC – Travel rotation between clinic locations
The Patient Service Coordinator provides advanced administrative and patient-facing support within a high-volume urology specialty practice. This role is responsible for delivering an excellent patient experience while supporting front desk operations, patient scheduling, referrals, telephone management, and daily clinic workflows. The coordinator will rotate between the Lexington and Thomasville clinic locations based on operational needs.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities- Perform front desk check-in and check-out
, ensuring accurate and timely completion of registration and patient information. - Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and contact information.
- Manage incoming telephone calls and appropriately route calls to the appropriate department or team member.
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments according to provider templates and clinic guidelines.
- Process and manage referrals
, ensuring required information is obtained and referrals are appropriately scheduled and tracked. - Collect and process patient payments and assist with financial questions as appropriate.
- Provide coverage and support at both the Lexington and Thomasville clinic locations as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED, required. - Experience:
Three years of experience in a medical office setting, required. Other related experience may be considered in lieu of medical office experience. - Additional Skills (required):
Knowledge of medical office software for the following: updating patient demographic information, posting charges, copays, and scheduling patient appointments. Requires understanding of CPT and ICD9-CM coding processes. Requires excellent verbal communication skills. Must be able to work with changing priorities. Requires excellent organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Must be able to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority.
Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to function as part of a team. Must possess initiative. Basic medical terminology required, knowledge can be obtained through formal classes or work experience. High level of working knowledge of EPIC systems. Detailed knowledge of multiple payors billing requirements. Familiarity of coding requirements for practice specialty. - Additional Skills (preferred):
Proficient in the use of all computer software utilized in the practice.
