Clinical Assistant

The Clinical Assistant is the main link between the patients and the Provider. The (CA) provides care and related services to patients in the medical centers. They provide services that reflect the Mission, standards, and philosophy of the Hot Springs Health Program.

• Accurately obtain and record vital signs and pertinent observations of the patient's visit.
• Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, radiation, and safety procedures.
• Display a courteous, empathetic, and respectful attitude.
• Demonstrate proficiency in taking vital signs and phlebotomy.
• Demonstrate proficiency in administering injections.
• Accurately document medications/injections in health maintenance and NCIR.
• Accurately collect and process lab samples.
• Provide patient education if appropriate and as directed.
• Monitors check-in and works up patients promptly.
• Follows providers' orders.
• Timely and accurate documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Attend all required staff trainings and meetings.
• Stocking and cleaning rooms as assigned.
• Assist with cleaning and wrapping medical instruments, maintaining the maintenance logbook, and with the autoclave and spore testing.
• Ensure adequate coverage before leaving the floor for break, lunch, and end of shift.

• Maturity and ability to deal effectively with job demands.
• Respect for the confidentiality of all aspects of patient care and business matters of the Hot Springs Health Program.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Abide by the policies and procedures of the Hot Springs Health Program, located in the employee handbook. Abide by all federal, state, and local regulations.

• Education:
  
  High School graduate or GED.
• Experience:
  
  Clinical Assistant experience preferred but not required. Computer experience required.
• Other:
  Valid NC Driver’s License and dependable transportation.
