Essential Functions- Lead event communication with serving staff and implement standards of dining set ups and banquet functions.
- Prepare dining room or special event location for service before a function and post meal or event.
- Provide wait services to guests in a pleasant, efficient, helpful manner during regular dining and/or special events.
- Maintain cleanliness of banquet event and dining areas.
- Keep grade “A” health standards and meet guests’ needs.
- Be on time to all functions.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures and report any unsafe activities or conditions immediately.
- Follow posted duties for specific meals and events.
- Wear and maintain clean, pressed staff uniform, including name tag.
- Serve as the primary on‑floor supervisor for banquet event servers during all banquet functions and catered events.
- Conduct pre‑event briefings with banquet event servers, communicating station assignments, service sequence, menu details and special instructions.
- Monitor banquet event server performance throughout each event and provide real‑time coaching and redirection.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for event planners and on‑site group representatives during banquet functions.
- Verify event room setup against the BEO prior to guest arrival.
- Serve as the final authority on event readiness—no banquet function begins service without captain approval.
- Makes real‑time operational decisions during events, including adjustments to service flow and staffing assignments.
- Coordinate directly with group sales and event planning for last‑minute BEO changes.
- Review upcoming BEOs at least 48 hours in advance and flag any resource conflicts or staffing concerns.
- Complete and submit a post‑event service report after each function.
- Maintain and periodically audit banquet equipment and linen inventory, and submit reorder requests.
- Formally onboard and train new banquet event servers and banquet lead servers on service standards and procedures.
- Provide written or verbal performance feedback to the Food, Beverage and Event Services Manager.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma and 1–3 months relevant food service experience, preferably in banquets and special event catering.
- Hospitality experience strongly desired with excellent hospitality skills and a strong desire to exceed guests’ expectations.
- Strong communication skills and client relationship skills, with a commitment to responsive and conscientious customer service.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and multiple task demands.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, emails, and memos.
- Ability to present job‑related information effectively upon request.
- Proven organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Problem‑solving ability and ability to handle a variety of customer, client, and employee questions.
- Ability to interpret instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Moderate to strenuous physical activity work.
- Well‑lighted, heated and/or air‑conditioned indoor and outdoor private event spaces with adequate ventilation; moderate to loud noise.
- Physical demands: able to lift up to 50 pounds, with manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, move frequently, stand and walk for extended periods.
- Occasional outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Must frequently move from building to building, pushing carts and/or carrying objects up to 50lb.
- Good vision for close tasks.
- Availability Monday through Sunday, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, as needed.
