Overview
This entry-level position provides key support to all members of our employee population. The position, located in our Kenly, North Carolina facility, will also provide remote support to our other locations. Analysis, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of technology that supports our manufacturing operation from a hardware and software perspective are the key components of this position, as the Technician supports employees at all levels in the organization.
The IT Operations Technician is essential in upholding Conestoga’s IT mission – Simplicity, Mobility, Agility, and Security.
- Analyze and troubleshoot device problems, network connectivity, etc.
- Support purchased software packages, by liaising between user and vendor support
- Evaluate user needs, and provide hardware consultation to meet user needs
- Install new software and hardware solutions
- Provide instruction to end-users as needed for standard software and hardware packages
- Write problem briefs and document fixes in knowledgebase for all technicians at all sites to reference
- Learn and utilize new technology and skills through education, informational sessions and reading technical literature, manuals and periodicals
- Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
- Support PLC to PC communications and provide support to Maintenance Department on machine issues
- Ensure smooth operation of critical factory floor machine PCs, including system backups and upgrades
- Technical education and certifications strongly preferred
- The need for judgment and discretion in independent decision-making is required
- Ability to communicate with department and non-department employees, management officials, vendors, customers, community and trade associates
- 24-hour technical support when deemed by IT Operations Supervisor
- Participation in on-call rotation for technical support
- Ability to occasionally travel to other company locations
- Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
