Network Administrator - Desktop Support
This position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting all computer and network components—including servers, switches, and cabling—at assigned locations. They configure Cisco switches, document network configurations, ensure production floor connectivity, and resolve hardware/software issues.
Key Responsibilities- Network Maintenance:
Support and manage all network components, including routers, switches, and cabling. - Production Support:
Provide hardware and network support specifically for Production Floor computer systems. - System Configuration:
Program Cisco switches for Local Area Network (LAN) functionality. - Documentation:
Create and maintain documentation for site‑specific technologies and standard operating procedures. - Troubleshooting:
Perform diagnostics for network, hardware, and software issues. - Project Management:
Execute technology projects in compliance with IT standards. - Printer Support:
Support all printer functions at assigned locations.
- Deep understanding of VLANs and network components.
- Roles may require 24/7 on‑call support.
- Strong emphasis on maintaining connectivity and performance to minimize downtime.
- Three years related experience.
- Working/troubleshooting knowledge of Windows 2003/2008 Server, Windows XP, Vista.
- Must have knowledge of network cabling and connectivity.
- MCSE Certification is a plus; not required.
- A+ Certification is a plus; not required.
- Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must have strong customer support abilities.
- Must be willing to work in a plant / industrial environment.
- Must be willing to travel.
Education Requirement:
High School Diploma/GED;
Associates degree or two years of college coursework within a subject related to position functions.
