Search Performance Specialist

Job Type: Full-time, exempt

Location: McLeansville, NC (On-site)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.

- 5:00 p.m.
About the Role:

We're looking for a Search Performance Specialist to support Replacements' paid and organic search programs. This role works closely with our paid media agency and internal teams, including Ecommerce, Analytics, and Technology, to help improve search visibility, customer acquisition, and website discoverability.

This is an early-career role with a clear growth path. You'll start by coordinating with our paid media agency, supporting foundational SEO work, monitoring performance, and compiling regular search reporting. Over time, the role will expand into more advanced SEO and AI-driven search initiatives as knowledge and experience grow.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and eager to learn how customers discover and engage with brands through search. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience across paid search, SEO, ecommerce, and emerging AI-driven search experiences.

This role is based in our McLeansville, NC office. We are primarily seeking candidates in the Greensboro/Triad area. We will consider strong candidates from outside the area, but relocation assistance will not be available.
What You'll Do:
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact with our paid media agency, sharing business priorities, promotions, seasonal goals, and product visibility needs.
  • Review agency reports and monitor paid search performance across platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, or similar digital advertising platforms.
  • Track core search metrics including spend, CTR, CPC, ROAS, organic traffic, keyword rankings, and budget pacing using agency reports, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and SEO tools.
  • Compile regular search performance summaries with key trends, anomalies, questions, and recommended follow-up items for review with your manager.
  • Identify and recommend on-page SEO improvements, including metadata, title tags, internal linking, keyword research, and content structure.
  • Monitor Google Search Console for crawl errors, indexing issues, ranking changes, and other site health indicators.
  • Research keywords to identify opportunities to improve organic visibility for product, category, and content pages.
  • Partner with Ecommerce, Analytics, and Technology teams to flag site issues that may affect search performance, including page speed, mobile experience, structured data, and page discoverability.
Where This Role Goes:

As you grow into the role, you'll take on more SEO strategy and build deeper expertise in AI-driven search, including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and emerging search result experiences. You'll help audit content and page structure for AI-search readiness and, over time, become an internal resource on how AI is changing the way customers find products online.

This role is intentionally designed to grow from execution and coordination into broader search expertise.
What Makes Someone Successful:
  • Curiosity:
Search is changing rapidly. The right candidate should be interested in where search is heading and motivated to keep learning.
  • Analytical thinking:
You do not need to be a data analyst, but you should be comfortable working with performance data, reading dashboards, spotting trends, and asking thoughtful questions.
  • Attention to detail:
You should be careful and consistent when reviewing, updating, and communicating search-related information, ensuring metadata, keyword inputs, reporting notes, and agency feedback are accurate and clearly documented.
  • Organization and time management:
This role requires follow-through across recurring reporting, SEO tasks, agency communication, and internal coordination.
  • Communication skills:
You will help connect external agency partners with internal teams and should be able to communicate updates, questions, and concerns clearly.
  • Problem solving and adaptability:
Search performance can shift due to customer behavior, site changes, campaign adjustments, technical issues, or platform updates. You should be comfortable investigating issues and adapting as priorities change.
  • Customer and results focus:
The work should stay connected to how customers search for, discover, and engage with Replacements online.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in paid search, SEO, digital marketing, ecommerce, marketing operations, or a related execution-focused role.
  • Foundational knowledge of paid search or digital advertising platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, or similar platforms.
  • Working familiarity with Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4.
  • Familiarity with SEO research tools such as SEMrush or comparable platforms is preferred.
  • Understanding of on-page SEO basics, including metadata, title tags, internal linking, keyword research, and content…
