Job Description
The IT Manager supports the company’s goals by providing, supporting and maintaining optimal LAN/WAN uptimes to our employees and customers 24×7. (Position is both Network Admin and System Admin). This person will be the sole Network Administrator and will have a variety of responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Administering and supporting all network related devices: telephone equipment, firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, OS patch management and any updates or upgrades on such equipment.
- Responsible for data center maintenance.
- Monitor and benchmark system performance related to websites, applications, and databases (checking and archiving logs, creating and providing performance reports).
- Creation, maintenance and testing of PC workstations and server baselines, maintenance of DNS, DHCP, SMTP, VPN administration, MS Exchange and other applications necessary for company operations.
- Works with third‑party vendors to deploy hardware, software and operation strategies that meet best practices and participates in vendor recommendation reviews.
- Automate administrative tasks using scripts and utilities.
- Participate in on‑call duties for off‑hour administration as needed to support a 24×7 company operation.
- Participate in IT department planning to ensure successful implementation of networking projects.
- B.A. in CIS, MIS or related field (exceptional work experience substituted for education).
- Minimum of 2–5 years of work experience with information system technologies and knowledge of technical support requirements in an enterprise‑wide LAN/WAN environment.
- Direct, hands‑on experience with Microsoft‑based technology products.
- Experience with Cisco technology is a plus.
- Candidate will work effectively in both independent and team situations.
- Strong communication skills.
- Work well in a high‑pressure setting.
- Must be able to multi‑task.
