Linux System Administrator / Cybersecurity Professional
Location: McLeansville, NC
Pay: Up to $44/hour
Work Type: Onsite
Clearance: Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
Overview:
Seeking a Linux System Administrator / Cybersecurity Professional to support advanced defense engineering development programs. This role focuses on Linux administration, cybersecurity implementation, Cisco networking, system hardening, and DoD compliance within secure engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support engineering development and maintenance programs
- Perform Linux system administration, installation, hardening, patching, and troubleshooting
- Configure and maintain Cisco network equipment and infrastructure
- Support cybersecurity compliance and vulnerability remediation
- Conduct vulnerability scanning, analysis, and security patch management
- Implement and maintain secure network architectures
- Perform hands-on network setup including rack/stack, cabling, servers, and end devices
- Support RMF/STIG compliance initiatives and cybersecurity documentation
- Conduct project planning, vendor comparisons, and cost analysis
- Collaborate with engineering teams in a fast-paced defense environment
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 2+ years of Linux system administration experience
- Experience with Linux hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation
- Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity standards
- Experience with Cisco networking equipment and LAN configuration
- Knowledge of network architecture and troubleshooting
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- RHCSA, Linux+, Server+, Network+, Security+, or equivalent certifications
- CISSP or CCNP preferred
- Experience supporting defense or secure engineering environments
- Hands-on experience with network infrastructure deployment
- Experience with vulnerability scanning and compliance analysis tools
