Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast‑paced technology company and a leader in data center operations. We are expanding our infrastructure management team and seek a technology manager with experience in people management, strong technical understanding, and the drive to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
- Manage the performance of a diverse team(s) of data center operation professionals across multiple locations
- Develop and drive career planning for data center teams
- Lead recruiting, onboarding, and performance management activities
- Manage and deliver mid‑size projects
- Ensure effective day‑to‑day operations including queue management, 24/7 shift arrangement, and hardware logistics
- Become a subject‑matter expert on all aspects of data center operations
- Monitor and drive operational KPIs and metrics for IT capacity availability
- Inspire and guide improvements in team process, technology innovation, and automation
- Lead large‑scale events (outages) and act as call leader
- Improve workflows and throughput for data center operations
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs
- Maintain on‑call schedule coordination and attendance
- Strive to improve the customer experience
- 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience or a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent
- 2+ years of people‑management experience
- 2+ years of operations and on‑call support for data center, mission‑critical, or production facilities
- 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing
- Technical writing experience in a relevant field
- Experience with system management tools and client/server environments
- Relevant certifications such as A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, or similar
The base salary range for this position is USD 78,400–137,300 annually. Salary and benefits vary by location and experience.
