Information Technology Instructor

The Information Technology Instructor will provide engaging, student-centered instruction and create high-quality learning experiences that prepare students for today's evolving networking and cybersecurity fields. The instructor will design effective courses, use active learning strategies, foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, and remain committed to student success and continuous professional growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include instructional delivery and course management, administrative responsibilities, academic advising, college service, instructional design and learning experience development, AI literacy and technology integration, student support and success, assessment and institutional effectiveness, and professional development.

General qualifications include language and communication skills, mathematical and analytical skills, critical thinking and reasoning ability, and other skills and abilities.

Required qualifications include an associate's degree in Information Technology, computer science, or a related field, certification to teach CCNA curriculum courses in Cisco Networking Academy, and skills/experience/credentials in network management and security along with hardware/software support and other Information Technology (such as Microsoft Applications).

Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Information Technology/Computer Science, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+ Certification, CompTIA A+ Certification, and Quality Matters Teaching Online Certificate (or equivalent).

Physical demands include regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to sit, occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling, ability to lift/move up to approximately 10 pounds, and vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work environment includes maintaining a clean, safe, and organized instructional environment, typically quiet work environment, and occasional work in outdoor weather conditions.
