TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : 12 months

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Graduation from a two-year college or technical school with coursework in Technology.
  • Twelve (12) months of relevant experience.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

NATURE OF WORK :
An individual in this class provides essential first‑line technical support and maintenance for the technology infrastructure that supports teaching, learning, and administrative operations. This role requires a proactive and customer‑focused individual who can effectively troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues for school staff and students. Responsibilities encompass the installation, configuration, and upkeep of a variety of educational technologies, including computers, peripherals, and classroom presentation systems.

Furthermore, the position entails contributing to the efficient management of technology assets through inventory tracking and adherence to established IT procedures, all while ensuring a stable and functional technological environment that empowers educators and enhances the educational experience. Effective communication, problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to providing timely and helpful technical assistance are integral to the daily execution of these duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • Working knowledge of current Windows and/or macOS operating systems and common desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware components, peripherals (printers, scanners, interactive panels), and their functionality.
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and Wi‑Fi.
  • Awareness of common software installation and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Understanding of basic user account management principles.
  • Familiarity with educational software and online learning platforms commonly used in K-12 environments (preferred).
  • Proficient in troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues.
  • Skill in installing, configuring, and updating operating systems and applications.
  • Effective problem‑solving and analytical skills.

    Ability to follow technical instructions and procedures accurately.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and software quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and customer‑focused attitude when providing support.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
