Security Operations Analyst

Be the first line of defense for customer networks, systems, applications, and data inside our Virtual Network and Security Operations Center.

This position supports the Virtual Network and Security Operations Center line of business and promotes the development of cybersecurity skills and experiences that help tailor solutions to client business issues.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, efficient, and effective at critical thinking and problem-solving. Location is North Wilkesboro, NC.

VNSOC
360 Managed cybersecurity operations and customer defense.

Threat hunting Investigate events and identify patterns that matter.

Incident response Triage, prioritize, respond, and report clearly.

• Perform event and incident triage, threat hunting, and incident response.
• Use commercial and open source tools to detect, evaluate, triage, prioritize, and respond to security events.
• Write technical and executive incident reports when needed.

• Support research and development, security module creation, automation, and process improvement.
• Support vulnerability management and penetration tests.
• Continuously improve security analysis skills to match current technical challenges.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• AS/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 1-3 years of hands-on technical experience.
• Security analysis, threat hunting, forensics, flow analysis, and log management experience.
• IDS/IPS management, PCAP carving, file extraction, long tail analysis, endpoint security, and network security knowledge.
• Understanding of ISO 27001, FedRAMP, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, SOC 2, and HIPAA.
