The Dock Coordinator is responsible for all inbound and outbound scheduling. This position collaborates with Inbound and Outbound management to coordinate freight companies into and out of the facility, and is responsible for correctly collecting, sharing, and filing data pertaining to inbound and outbound freight.
Minimum Requirements- Education:
High School Diploma or GED - Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in a related area. Planning, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Logistics experience preferred. - Travel: 0-10%
- Work Schedule:
This position works between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm, or 6 pm to 6 am Monday through Friday depending on assigned shift. May vary based on customer demands and can include, but is not limited to: nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Responsible for maintaining up to date inbound and outbound schedules.
- Accurately update all schedule changes as they occur.
- Communicate and direct freight drivers as they arrive to the correct loading/unloading locations.
- Verify and update data for Inbound/Outbound Supervisors.
- Create purchase orders to complete freight transaction with various Brokers, Carrier, and Shipping Companies.
- Coordinate release dates of owner furnished equipment and customer furnished material.
- Accurately provide daily schedule to determine labor needs.
- Track schedules with vendors/internal updates on incoming equipment/material.
- Communicate material delays to appropriate stakeholders.
- Collect and file BOLs, Shipping Manifests, and Packing Slips and file as needed.
- Track and update daily, weekly, and monthly metrics and reports; drive improvements in key metrics (including safety, accuracy and quality, on-time delivery, financial performance, and excellence through people).
- Manage documents and projects as assigned.
- Maintain appropriate records of material receipts and initial material movement / storage within the facility.
- Collaborate with managers and other departments to develop and modify material inventory processes and procedures.
- Attend Daily, Weekly, Monthly meetings with various Freight Brokers, Carriers, and Vendors.
- Provide input on supplier performance to materials / supply chain team leadership.
- Update/Monitor Daily Task information to Material Handlers.
- Resolve job material freight discrepancies and communicate resolution to job in a timely manner.
- Resolve any purchase order discrepancies.
- Provide continuous feedback for process improvements, track/maintain outbound and inbound daily, weekly, monthly and yearly metrics.
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Actively maintain 5S principles throughout work area.
- Actively participate in Faith’s hiring referral and mentoring program, as appropriate.
