Life in Conway:
Located in the eastern part of the state, Conway is a small North Carolina town within 100 miles of Richmond, Norfolk-Virginia Beach and the Raleigh-Durham area.

• Our Conway team has strong ties to the local community. We recently sponsored the town's annual charity golf tournament, and several of our associates are active in the volunteer Conway Fire Department, to which Bakelite donates essential emergency services equipment.

• A nearby attraction is the Roanoke River, which flows across North Carolina's coastal plain and is home to lots of wildlife, including more than 200 species of birds. Does a Typical Day Look Like? Here are your primary responsibilities:

• Operating equipment such as hoists, man-lifts, rigging equipment, and forklifts to complete mechanical installations.
• Applying facility safe work policies and practices.
• Collaboratively working with other maintenance employees, management personnel, production operators, engineers, and contractors. Following work plans and schedules.

What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities):

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with, understanding, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components e.g.: rotating equipment inspection and assessment, coupling/pulley alignment, belt tensioning and alignment.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with, understanding, maintaining, and repairing mechanical pumps and seals, valves, and bearings.
• Minimum of one (1) year of mechanical troubleshooting (valves, motors, pumps, etc.) experience in a manufacturing or military environment.
• Work required rotational weekend on-call duties.
• Work in high places and confined spaces. Lift 50 lbs. throughout an eight (8) hour shift.
