Position SummaryThe Maintenance Mechanic III provides a safe and comfortable environment for all patients, visitors, and staff. The Maintenance Mechanic III maintains all equipment, buildings, and grounds in good operating condition, ensuring accuracy and completeness of work orders, and follows up as needed.
Responsibilities- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate appropriately with staff of varied skill levels and expertise.
- Responsible for completing work orders issued by departments in a timely manner with proper documentation.
- Performs daily inspections in each Mechanical room for proper equipment performance.
- Performs weekly inspections and testing of the emergency generators with all documentation of results.
- Performs all preventive maintenance procedures properly.
- Initiates repairs on equipment found to be defective or not meeting specifications.
- Performs all fire fighting equipment inspections and documents results.
- Performs all duties related to new construction and renovation projects and coordinates with all affected departments and/or personnel.
- Participates in disaster/emergency drills as required and responds to emergencies throughout the hospital.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in Maintenance Services or a related area.
- Additional two-year successful completion in a trade or vocational school program (two additional years of experience may substitute for the required trade school).
- Universal Refrigerate Recovery license is preferred.
Shift Expectations: 1st Shift – Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; the position will be in call rotation with other team members.
