Division Information:

The mission of the North Carolina Aquariums is to inspire appreciation and conservation of North Carolina’s aquatic environments. This is achieved by providing visitors with outstanding exhibits, experiences, and customer service.

The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores attracts over 400,000 visitors each year and is located next to Bogue Sound.

Description of Work:

This seasonal part-time position is responsible for maintaining the building, exhibits, and grounds of the Aquarium in a clean and neat manner. Primary job responsibilities include cleaning and vacuuming floors, cleaning walls and public areas, including restrooms, food service areas, teaching labs, event spaces, admissions area, and parking lot areas. This position also involves routine cleaning of windows, doors, exhibits, and removal of trash from public and staff containers.

Additional tasks may be assigned.

Position/Physical Requirements:

• Schedule Varies:
  Daily 8am-5pm (16-32 hrs per week). Weekends may be required.
• Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions and carry out both written and verbal instructions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in customer service.
• Experience with housekeeping (office, business, or commercial cleaning).

Minimum Education and Experience:
