About this position

About Durham's Cleaning Service

Durham's Cleaning Service is a leading janitorial cleaning company specializing in providing comprehensive cleaning solutions for service-based companies and distribution centers. With years over 14 years of experience and a team of highly trained professionals, we are committed to delivering exceptional cleaning services that enhance the efficiency, safety, and cleanliness of your facility. We pride ourselves on delivering top-quality service that goes beyond surface-level cleaning.

Our comprehensive approach involves thorough inspections, detailed planning, and customized cleaning protocols designed to optimize productivity while adhering to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Whether it's removing dust and debris, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, or tackling difficult-to-reach areas, we leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of excellence.

About the role

Durham’s Cleaning Service is hiring a dependable, full-time Day Porter to keep an industrial manufacturing facility in Marion, NC clean, safe, and presentable throughout the day. This is a hands‑on, active role for someone who takes pride in their work and shows up reliably. You’ll be the on‑site presence keeping restrooms, break areas, offices, and common spaces in top shape while the plant is running.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and locker rooms throughout the day — clean, sanitize, and restock soap, paper towels, and tissue
  • Keep break rooms, cafeteria, and common areas clean, wiped down, and stocked
  • Collect and remove trash and recycling from assigned areas
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot‑clean floors; keep entryways and lobbies presentable
  • Clean glass, doors, and high‑touch surfaces
  • Respond promptly to spills and cleanup requests during the shift, placing wet‑floor signs as needed
  • Restock cleaning and restroom supplies; notify supervisor when inventory runs low
  • Report maintenance issues (leaks, damaged fixtures, safety hazards) to the site supervisor
  • Follow all facility safety rules, wear required PPE, and maintain awareness of the industrial environment

What We’re Looking For

  • 18 years or older
  • Reliable transportation to the Marion facility (rural site — dependable transportation is essential)
  • Able to stand and walk for a full shift, and to bend, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Dependable, punctual, and detail‑oriented
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Prior custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required — we’ll train the right person
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screening

Why Join Us

  • Steady, full‑time daytime hours
  • Competitive hourly pay, paid weekly
  • Consistent single‑site assignment (no driving between locations)
  • Room to grow with an established, multi‑state cleaning company
