District Shift leader

Position Overview

Einstein Bros. Bagels is looking for a District Shift Leader who will support and manage a home bakery location while also providing leadership and training across the market. The District Shift Leader will be part of a targeted General Manager development plan and, upon completion, will be next in line for a General Manager role.

District Shift Leaders perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed. They travel to gain independence and learn from additional leaders, and they lead in the absence of a General Manager. Shifts begin as early as 3 a.m. for the first bake and store opening duties. Duties include coaching and training teams, ensuring high‑quality food and beverages, maintaining a safe and clean store environment, and performing administrative tasks such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management.

The GM development plan will provide training in P&L analysis, food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting quality team members.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience (preferred)
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be able to work varied hours, including early hours and weekends (starting as early as 3 a.m.)
• Must pass a background check and possess a current, valid driver’s license
• Must complete the Bagel Brands Serv Safe Certification program by the end of the GM development plan, unless a valid certification is already held
• Expected to fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market and to accept a permanent GM promotion when available (specific location not guaranteed)
