Director of Permits & Inspections
Chatham County is seeking a Director of Permits & Inspections to lead the County's permitting, building inspections, and fire inspections operations. In this key leadership role, you'll oversee critical countywide services, guide modernization and efficiency efforts, and help support the safe and responsible growth of one of North Carolina's fastest-growing communities.
Performs intermediate professional and skilled technical work overseeing the operations of building inspections, fire inspections, and the central permitting office, supervising the issuance of permits, updating and managing all aspects of the permit software, preparing and maintaining appropriate records and files, and performing related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the County Manager. Departmental supervision is exercised over all assigned personnel.
