PT Country Store Team Lead

Personal qualifications:
Minimum – high school diploma. Minimum two (2) years of successful work experience in dealing with the public. Valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Computer competency required.

Supervisor/chain of command:
Manager of Volunteer Programs and Country Store

Working schedule:
Non-exempt, part-time position, scheduled to meet the needs of the position and BGHNC.

Service responsibilities:

  • Oversee Country Store staff and volunteers by coordinating work schedules, assigning responsibilities, and providing guidance to ensure efficient daily operations. Assist with orientation and training of staff and volunteers.
  • Receive, clean, sort, inspect, price, and prepare donated merchandise for sale to the general public.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the Country Store, including opening and closing procedures, providing excellent customer service, operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, processing payments, and maintaining merchandise displays, pricing, clearance, and inventory disposition.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the Country Store and all storage areas, with a strong emphasis on customer and employee safety.
  • Coordinate the receipt and processing of all donations, ensuring donated items are inspected, cleaned, priced, and prepared for display in a timely manner.
  • Oversee general sales floor operations including allocation of space, accessibility and accurate signage.
  • Plan and implement special events such as merchandise sales and other promotions to increase sales and promote awareness of the store to the general public.
  • Responsible for proper disposal of those items which cannot be sold. This includes recycling or donating to other agencies in need. This responsibility entails direct communication and coordination with the Manager of Volunteer Programs and Country Store to arrange for whatever assistance may be required.
  • Assist with the store closing, including counting money, store walk through, thermostat check, lights off, and all doors and gates secured and locked.
  • Oversee, per Country Store guidelines, residents assigned through the World of Work Program.
  • Participate in campus-wide events and activities as needed. Due to the nature of the childcare profession, employees may be required to assist with field trips, banquets, outings, Board meetings, athletic events, and other organizational activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Volunteer Programs and Country Store and the CFO and President/CEO.
  • Working conditions:

    Direct supervision of residents who are employable through organizational programs. Requires job coaching to residents, teaching them skills to help them in the workplace.

    Physical requirements:

    Walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, tool use, standing, kneeling, walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs/ladders, reaching, squeezing, keyboarding, sitting.
