Shape the Camp Experience

• Bring vision and creativity to camp programming — building the annual calendar, overseeing the design and implementation of engaging activities, and serving as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians.

• Supervise a team of full and part-time staff. Design and deliver comprehensive staff training covering behavior management, safety protocols, and daily operations — setting your team up to succeed and campers up to flourish.
• Partner on annual budget planning, oversee fiscal management year-round, and keep programs aligned with revenue goals. Collaborate with the Development team to nurture relationships with current and prospective donors.

• Lead staff recruitment and hiring to meet key benchmarks, while promoting camp programs to attract participants, staff, interns, and volunteers alike.

• Work cross-functionally with departments throughout the organization to keep camp operations running smoothly and in sync with broader organizational goals.

• Partner with property staff on ongoing maintenance, facility improvements, and event setup — helping shape a camp environment that's safe, welcoming, and built to last.

• Collaborate with HR on employee matters and oversee camp program registration, ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes.

• A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university plus 4 years of supervised experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
• OR 2 years of supervisory experience in a residential camp setting, plus 4 years of supervised experience in a similar setting serving people with autism or other developmental disabilities

• Salary: $60,000- 80,000 annually.
• Scheduled Programming includes:
  Mid-May through Mid-August: 9 weeks of full summer camp;
  Mid-August through Mid May: intermittent programming that is roughly an average of 6 days per month
• Optional on-site housing may be available and can be discussed as part of the overall compensation package. Base salary will be adjusted for candidates who elect to utilize employer-provided housing.

Located in Chatham County near Pittsboro, North Carolina, Camp Royall is a hub of year-round activity that offers a caring, supportive atmosphere and celebrates each individual. Campers enjoy classic camp fun — swimming, arts and crafts, hiking, hayrides, and boating — all within a structured environment designed around the needs of individuals with autism. Camp Royall has counselor-to-camper ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 ensure every camper is understood, supported, and celebrated.

This role blends office-based work with plenty of time outdoors, in the gym, and in other recreational settings. ASNC provides the tools needed for a comfortable office workspace and will help identify what's needed to succeed in camp's outdoor and recreational environment.
