General Description / Primary PurposeOversee the day-to-day sanitation operations, meeting all established levels of plant cleanliness and sanitation to ensure the production of safe, quality food. Manage site relationship with 3rd party service provider site management.
Major Responsibilities and Tasks/Duties of the Position- Supervise and manage effectiveness of sanitation shift personnel, maintaining established levels of cleanliness and sanitation for the plant, i.e., GMP, Safety, and other plant policies
- Communicate any changes to schedule to 3rd party service provider as soon as possible, following Schedule Change Management policy.
- Ensure chemical inventories are maintained and replacement chemicals at a frequency in line with the forecasted consumption and are ordered prior to depletion.
- Communicate any out of specification ATP or microbial counts to 3rd party service provider within 24 hrs. and include their site management in any investigations.
- Attend weekly CAPA meetings and provide written summary to 3rd party service provider after each meeting with any follow-ups needed from them.
- Coordinate with 3rd party service provider to provide corrective actions to address both internal/external audit findings.
- Review Chemical supplier monthly service report with plant leadership and create CAPAs to address any observations/recommendation.
- Conduct weekly audits of SSOP execution by 3rd party service provider and provide written summary of observations/recommendations to plant leadership and 3rd party service provider. Also, conduct bi-weekly sanitation meetings with cross functional departments.
- Participate in root cause analysis for any sanitation trends, ATP or microbial OOS results.
- Responsible for safety and the promotion of safe work practices; resolves/follows up on safety issues and be part of safety audits
- Evaluate, plan, implement and maintain MSS schedules for the facility.
- Maintain and manage inventory of sanitation supplies, sanitation budget compliance, and labor tracking
- Demonstrate results of sanitation programs, document cleaning schedules and procedures
- Support management staff during plant sanitation audits.
- Follow all Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable to position
- Support Corporate Sanitation with all new initiatives and program enhancements
- Ensure the integrity and continued operations of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned
- 3+ years of sanitation, quality, or production leadership experience in food processing.
- Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Clean-in-Place (CIP) practices.
- Working knowledge of sanitation processes, procedures, and equipment.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with management and hourly employees.
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Access or MP2 (preventive maintenance).
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Must be reliable, dependable, and flexible.
- Bilingual Spanish/English language skills highly preferred.
- Must have the ability to make decisions, maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and accept constructive criticism.
Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, work in a cold environment, and lift 40 pounds. Will have some exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
Work Hour & Travel RequirementsMust be reliable, dependable, and flexible; be able to work night shift and be flexible enough to come in during the day if needed.
Required ExperienceEXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
* B.S. in Food Science or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
PAY RATE:
- $78,000 - $82,000 Annually
