Location: Staley
At Pilgrim’s, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always.
We have implemented safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are working to ensure social distancing within our facility. We have installed physical barriers throughout our facility such as plexi-glass or plastic barriers between team member work stations. Each day, temperature screens are performed for each employee and visitor before entering the facility. Face coverings are provided and required over the mouth and nose at all times when inside the facility, and enhanced cleaning and sanitation is regularly performed.
Job Duties /Physical Requirements / Dexterity
- Wash floats, transport hatcher trays, sanitize separator, sanitize hatcher, set eggs, transfer eggs, and load chicks onto conveyor.
- Wash floats by removing hatcher trays from the float, turning the float to remove debris, and rinsing with high pressure hose.
- Sanitize separator using a foaming system with sodium hypochlorite and rinse with a high pressure hose.
- Sanitize hatcher by removing fans from the inside, sweeping the floor, foaming with sodium hypochlorite, and rinsing with a high pressure hose.
- Set eggs by placing eggs into incubators, lifting 10‑pound egg trays and placing them into stacked buggies from floor level to shoulder level.
- Transfer eggs by pushing buggies on casters loaded with eggs to the vaccination table, placing each tray on the table, then placing back onto the buggy to roll to the hatcher.
- Load chicks onto the belt by removing chick trays from buggy and placing tray onto conveyor.
- Continuous standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Some jobs require pinch grip, back extension/flexion, and/or shoulder extension/flexion.
- Hearing protection is required in posted areas.
- Slip‑resistant shoes required in all areas.
- Steel toe shoes required during set and transfer.
- Cotton gloves optional as needed.

Working Conditions- Conditions are wet and humid during sanitation process.
- Team members spend approximately 2 hours per shift in incubators at 99 °F and are exposed to dusty conditions when chicks are in production.
