Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) years' experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining hydraulic/ mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammer, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and application to understanding fluid, material, and, mechanical, electrical, structures and processes.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Installing equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • The ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
  • Must be capable of reading wiring schematics, sketching electrical circuit components and their wiring.
  • Must have initial RCRA training and annual RCRA refresher training along with on the job training specific to the assigned job.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide emergency/ unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment on down time.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Clean, lubricate and adjust parts, equipment and machinery.
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of our buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspection, testing, or repairs.
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance from work orders, preventative work orders (PM's) as well as from written and verbal instructions.
  • Utilize basic mechanical knowledge to repair other mechanical and hydraulic equipment as well as electrical equipment.
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Operate Forklifts & Aerial lifts
