Magnit Direct Sourcing on behalf of Toyota is currently hiring an Maintenance Engineering Technician for a temporary assignment in Liberty, North Carolina.

This is a 12‑month contract.

The pay range for this role is between $60–70 per hour.

Who We’re Looking For
  • Toyota’s Production Engineering Battery Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Maintenance Engineering Technician.
  • The primary responsibility is to act as the North American machine set‑up personnel (SV), increase Operation Availability (OA) through continuous improvement and problem‑solving technical issues, and support the Battery department’s objective to execute capital projects from planning through Start of Production (SOP).
  • The position will be located at TBMNC in Liberty, NC and report to the Seibi Manager for Battery.

  • Must be able to navigate complex problem‑solving at the regional level and be effective at identifying and removing barriers that hinder progress.
  • Candidate must determine appropriate work priorities, develop and execute a schedule for said priorities, and report status to the management group.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Test and repair electrical equipment or systems (involving circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, servo drives, etc.).
  • Write, program, troubleshoot, modify and/or repair programmable logic controllers, robotics, cameras, and other electronic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair safety systems, machine components, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Plan and execute machine integration into mass production, leveling, adjustment and quality conformance for assigned work areas.
  • Perform basic administrative skills, including documentation of work performed by written/electronic methods.
  • Problem‑solve and continuously improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Develop detailed schedules (ddn‑wacho) for assigned work area/project.
  • Participate in project planning with Engineering.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn new processes.
  • Support machine production trials at vendors and internally within Toyota.
  • Certify safety of equipment per MMR/MMS (NFPA 79 and ISO standards) via “Safety Integrity Check.”
What You Bring
  • Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or equipment installation and debugging experience.
  • Experience with electrical and/or mechanical systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Technical experience with PLCs in programming, including read, write and modify logic.
  • Technical experience with servo motion controllers.
  • Technical experience with relay logic, including wiring and troubleshooting.
  • Technical experience with robotics, including programming and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic troubleshooting and schematic reading.
  • Availability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and shutdowns.
  • Ability for business travel, both domestic and international—up to 30%.
Added Bonus If You Have
  • Technical associate degree or higher or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in pre‑production set‑up.
  • Experience with production processes including standardized work (STW) and job instruction sheets (JIS).
  • Experience gathering and analyzing quality data from multiple sources.
  • New plant or facility startup experience.
  • Experience with high‑volume production in a clean‑room environment.
