This position will be responsible for weekly overnight travel to assit our local facilities in North Carolina and Virginia.

** Principal

Essential Duties & Responsibilities *
* + Must be able to demonstrate/achieve and maintain Maintenance Tech I proficiency within 10 months of hire.

+ Assist with maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine inspections.

+ Perform basic troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.

+ May assist in managing the machines' performance by doing equipment set up and production changeovers.

+ Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner. Maintain work records and prepare clear and concise oral and written reports.

+ Understand and follow all safety standards and quality protocols to ensure production exceeds the standards.

+ Collaborate well with production associates to solve problems with reliability and urgency.

+ Recognize and report unusual, inefficient, or dangerous mechanical and electrical situations.

+ Utilize appropriate safety precautions, methods, and apparatus to minimize and withstand exposure to chemicals, dust, and mechanical and electrical hazards. Learn and observe all safety precautions as required by Perdue.

+ Work all required work schedules. Day travel to nearby locations is sometimes required.

** Minimum

Education and Experience *
* + High School Diploma or GED and Equivalent Experience.

+ 0-3 Years experience in Industrial maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, and/or Equivalent Military Experience.

+ Beginner proficiency in Hydraulics, Mechanics, Electrical, Welding and Rigging.

+ Commitment to Continuous Learning to achieve increasing levels of expertise.

+ Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.

** Preferred

Education and Experience *
* + 2-year Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.

** Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors*
* + Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting (50 lbs.) and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day.

+ Position requires occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
