The Maintenance Worker performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision.

• Assist in installation of new equipment.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and/or other personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
• Follow the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Train Level 1 and 2 Maintenance personnel.
• Troubleshoot and repair process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
• Change electrical breakers and starters; operate voltage, ampere and ohm meters.
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
• Use assigned safety equipment (bump cap, safety glasses or goggles, welding protection, safety harness) and observe all company safety rules.
• Attend regularly scheduled safety meetings and may serve on the Safety Committee.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience with rendering or other similar equipment.
• Advanced welding, piping and fabrication skills required.

• Vocational school training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
• General mechanical aptitude; able to diagnose problems with motors and other equipment.
• Good math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Must pass a skills test on a 480 V combination starter/breaker box and control voltage for a combination box.
• Demonstrated advanced welding skills.

Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception. All tasks must be performed with proper safety gear and adherence to company safety policies.
