Assembler/Tester II – Forest City, NC
This position is responsible for the assembly and testing of valves, ensuring all products meet specific assembly and test methods and standards. The role requires proficiency in using measuring instruments to guarantee quality and adherence to test specifications and codes. The Assembler/Tester II will troubleshoot and rework components as necessary, interpret assembly drawings and instructions, and maintain a clean organized work environment.
Yourmain responsibilities
- Assemble and test valves according to established methods and standards.
- Utilize measuring instruments to ensure components meet quality specifications and codes.
- Monitor test stands for gauges and pressure readings, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues during the assembly and testing process.
- Rework assemblies as required to meet quality and performance standards.
- Document test results for certification purposes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper records of assembly processes and test results.
- Train new employees and assist in their onboarding as requested.
- Rotate through various assembly functions as needed to support team operations.
- Understand the operation and maintenance of test stands and related equipment.
- Ensure proper maintenance of stamp date codes and other identification markings on products.
- Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized.
- Continuously maintain high standards of quality, throughput, cost reduction, and customer service.
- Perform boxing or operate marking equipment as required.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a relevant field is a plus.
- Previous experience in assembly and testing, preferably in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and instructions.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments and tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
