The Molding Operator is responsible for performing visual inspections, labeling, and packaging parts. This associate must follow all procedures/work instructions and follow quality/safety protocol. This job is classified as a safety sensitive position. Attendance is an essential function of this job.
Responsibilities- Package products with proper labeling and packaging.
- Ensure FIFO procedures are followed.
- Perform visual and functional inspections of molded parts/assemblies to quality specifications.
- Perform hand assemblies on molded parts based on customer specifications ranging from a simple 2 step assembly to more complex multistep assemblies that require a high level of hand and finger dexterity.
- Routinely communicate and share knowledge with team members to produce high quality parts in a timely manner.
- Read Quality Plan to determine product specifications.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of material in the hoppers.
- Assist in line clearance activities.
- Escalate production and quality issues/concerns to Supervisor during production, following escalation policy.
- Communicate with Supervisor on machine performance issues.
- Perform rework or secondary operations as designated.
- Operate industrial equipment such as pallet jacks. Use forklift only if certification / training is completed.
- Responsible for completing production, QC and scrap reports.
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
- Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Assist in training new Molding Operators.
- Support initiatives throughout the facility, ensuring safety, housekeeping and quality standards are maintained.
- Proactively participate in training, development and safety events focusing on improving processes.
- Empty trash cans in the production area and discard cardboard as needed. Keep the work area clean.
- Some heavy lifting required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Zero to six months related production, quality assurance, quality control or laboratory testing preferred.
- Strong attention to detail is imperative.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with accuracy.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to be a reliable, responsible team player focused on producing a quality product.
- Must have knowledge of how to operate a computer. Basic Microsoft Excel skills are required.
- Successful completion of a post offer background check.
- Read, write and understand the English language.

The work environment is generally noisy, and the employee regularly works around dust, oil, electrical devices and mechanically moving parts. Safety glasses are required while on the plant floor. While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The warehouse is not temperature controlled. Must be comfortable working in a high-speed production environment.
SupervisionThe Molding Operator will be under the direct supervision of the Process Technician. Requests for time off, calling in sick, and any other concerns will be directed to the Process Technician for approval.

HoursThis position is non-exempt. Full-time, forty (40) hours of work are required per week. Must be available to work holidays and weekends when requested by Supervisor. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift may be required. May involve 8- or 12-hour shifts.
