About the Role
Pay rate: $17/hr
The Production Associate 2 employee at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for windows and doors assembly operations. The role focuses on delivering a quality product while minimizing waste and cost, ensuring timely customer delivery. The associate works with a sense of urgency to maintain material flow throughout the plant.
What you’ll do- Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick, and pack products
- Support and participate in employee engagement activities
- Follow defined clean‑up times
- Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
- Follow an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
- Participate in defining and improving standard work to enhance quality windows for customers
- Identify problems and communicate issues
- Assist with training co‑workers
- Support a respectful workplace
- Perform other duties across the plant as needed, as directed by supervision or management
- Ability to read a tape measure and interpret fractions and decimals
- Basic reading skills for minimum word and number recognition/visual cues
- Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and know when to change PPE
- Recognize hazards and understand safety protocols and PPE at the station
- Understanding of measurement standards and tolerances
- Follow instruction and standard work while referencing standard work instructions frequently
- Knowledge of product defects specific to the workstation
- Recognize station quality requirements/CTQ
- Communicate effectively by actively listening, explaining clearly, asking questions, and sharing important information
- Time management and awareness of cycle times
- Perform basic math including addition, subtraction, fractions, and decimals
- Interface with a computer system by accessing, navigating, and identifying downloads
- Stand for 8 to 10 hours using good posture and repetitive motion
- Problem solving using root cause analysis
- Dependability and punctuality
- Profile recognition ability to compare shapes to sample drawings
- Monitor inventory by adhering to min‑max levels (WIP) and utilizing scrap
- Record keeping: accurate, timely, legible, and scrap documentation
- Wear required PPE (metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses)
- Detail oriented and depandable
- High school diploma is preferred
- Physical ability: bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and stand; lift at least 50 pounds for 8 to 12 hours per day
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends based on business needs
- Cross‑train in various positions and departments
- Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and standing for long periods
- Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Follow supervisors’ instructions and directions as given
- Possess skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication, and initiative
- Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality
