The Plug & Die Technician will be responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of CNC and manual grinding equipment used to manufacture precision plugs, dies and related tooling required for copper tube drawing operations. This role is located in Pine Hall and will be fully on-site.
Starting Pay: $20.40 an hour
Schedule: 2nd Shift: 3pm - 11:30pm, Mon‑Fri

The P&D Tooling Technician supports the production process by ensuring tooling is manufactured, maintained, and repaired to precise dimensional and surface specifications.
Responsibilities include:
- Safety & compliance:
Follow all company safety policies, use required PPE, and handle chemicals and lubricants safely. - CNC grinding & machining operations:
Set up, program, and operate CNC grinding equipment including die grinders and plug grinders; adjust machine controls and parameters to maintain required tolerances. - Tooling fabrication & repair:
Produce plugs, dies and related tooling through precision grinding and machining. - Blueprint interpretation & machine planning:
Use engineering drawings and blueprints to plan machining operations and develop programs. - Measurement & quality verification:
Use precision measuring tools and shop mathematics to verify dimensions and surface finish. - Toolroom support & collaboration:
Work with engineering and production teams, provide tooling support, and maintain a clean, organized work area. - Equipment care & workplace organization:
Maintain machine cleanliness, perform routine maintenance, and ensure a safe work environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Vocational training in machining, toolmaking or related field preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and shop mathematics.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight tolerances.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Experience operating CNC grinding machines or similar precision machining equipment.
- Experience in tooling manufacturing for tube drawing or metal forming processes.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and machine parameter optimization.
- Experience in manufacturing environments supporting continuous production operations.
