Production Associate II - 1st Shift

ABOUT THE ROLE

Pay rate: $17/hr

The Production Associate 2 employee at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we safely make a quality product and minimize waste and cost, so it can be delivered on time to customers. The role requires working with a sense of urgency while maintaining the flow of material throughout the plant by performing the following duties:

• Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack products
• Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities.
• Follow defined clean‑up times.
• Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.
• Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations.
• Participate in defining and improving standard work to enhance quality windows for customers.
• Identify problems and communicate issues.
• Assist with training co‑workers.
• Support a respectful workplace.
• Perform other duties across the plant as needed, directed by supervision or management.

• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/visual cues.
• Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and know when to change PPE.
• Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards, protocols, and PPE.
• Knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances.
• Follow instruction and standard work while frequently referencing work instructions.
• Knowledge of product defects specific to the workstation.
• Quality recognition in station quality requirements (CTQ).
• Communicate effectively by actively listening, explaining clearly, asking questions, and sharing important information.
• Time management and awareness of cycle times.
• Ability to perform math by adding numbers, subtracting, including fractions and decimals.
• Interface with a computer system by accessing, navigating, and identifying downloads.
• Stand for 8 to 10 hours using good posture and repetitive motion.
• Problem-solving using root‑cause analysis.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• Profile recognition ability to recognize shapes and compare to sample drawing.
• Monitor inventory by adhering to minimum‑maximum levels (WIP) and utilization of scrap.
• Record keeping that is accurate, timely, and legible.
• Wear required PPE – metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses.
• Be able to complete tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods.
• Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and stand.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds for 8 to 12 hours a day.
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
• Work extended hours and weekends based on business needs.
• Willing and able to work in various positions across various departments (cross‑trained).
• Abide by all company policies and safety regulations.
• Follow supervisors’ instructions and directions as given.
• Possess problem‑solving, teamwork, communication, and initiative.
• Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality.
• High school diploma is preferred.
