ABOUT THE ROLE
Pay rate: $17/hr
The Production Associate 2 employee at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we safely make a quality product and minimize waste and cost, so it can be delivered on time to customers. The role requires working with a sense of urgency while maintaining the flow of material throughout the plant by performing the following duties:
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack products
- Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities.
- Follow defined clean‑up times.
- Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.
- Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations.
- Participate in defining and improving standard work to enhance quality windows for customers.
- Identify problems and communicate issues.
- Assist with training co‑workers.
- Support a respectful workplace.
- Perform other duties across the plant as needed, directed by supervision or management.
- Ability to read a tape measure and interpret fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/visual cues.
- Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and know when to change PPE.
- Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards, protocols, and PPE.
- Knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances.
- Follow instruction and standard work while frequently referencing work instructions.
- Knowledge of product defects specific to the workstation.
- Quality recognition in station quality requirements (CTQ).
- Communicate effectively by actively listening, explaining clearly, asking questions, and sharing important information.
- Time management and awareness of cycle times.
- Ability to perform math by adding numbers, subtracting, including fractions and decimals.
- Interface with a computer system by accessing, navigating, and identifying downloads.
- Stand for 8 to 10 hours using good posture and repetitive motion.
- Problem-solving using root‑cause analysis.
- Dependability and punctuality.
- Profile recognition ability to recognize shapes and compare to sample drawing.
- Monitor inventory by adhering to minimum‑maximum levels (WIP) and utilization of scrap.
- Record keeping that is accurate, timely, and legible.
- Wear required PPE – metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses.
- Be able to complete tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods.
- Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and stand.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds for 8 to 12 hours a day.
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
- Work extended hours and weekends based on business needs.
- Willing and able to work in various positions across various departments (cross‑trained).
- Abide by all company policies and safety regulations.
- Follow supervisors’ instructions and directions as given.
- Possess problem‑solving, teamwork, communication, and initiative.
- Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality.
- High school diploma is preferred.
