SEASONAL Finished Goods Forklift Operator -Day Shift

Description

We are in need of a SEASONAL Finished Goods Forklift Operator for Day Shift.

Safely operates forklift to transport items from Finished Goods staging area to warehouse storage area.

• Operates forklift in a pedestrian area to transport items from Finished Goods staging area to warehouse storage area.
• Maintains accurate records of finished goods transported.
• Helps keep storage area in warehouse neat and orderly.
• Operates shrink-wrap machine to shrink-wrap pallets as needed before moving them to warehouse storage area.
• Completes Pre‑Operational Checklist each day before operating lift.
• Reports all forklift damage or malfunction to supervisor.
• Operates forklift at a reasonable and prudent speed, watching closely for pedestrians or other motorized vehicles.
• Operates forklift to pull and stage slip sheets, trays, inserts, etc.
• Operates forklift to move rework pallets from production lines to Rework area once the pallet is full.
• Operates forklift to pull taste‑test pallets for Quality Control and places them in staging area near label room.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Follows safety rules and company policies.

May be cross‑trained as Machine Laborer. Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate. Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.

• Certified forklift operator.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Math skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• No supervisory responsibilities.

Forklift, Stretch Wrap Machine, Calculator, Air Hose, Knife.

• Reaching:
  Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Pushing:
  Using upper extremities to press against something with steady forces.
• Pulling:
  Using upper extremities to exert force to drag or haul objects.
• Grasping:
  Applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
• Hearing:
  Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels; receiving detailed information orally.
• Light work:
  Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or negligible force constantly.
• Mental effort:
  Above average concentration, memory, and time pressure decision‑making for safety considerations and reaction time.

Works inside with seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from some tasks. Exposed to fumes from hot pepper and forklift operations. Earplugs required due to loud machinery noise. Contact with grease. Head cover and beard cover required.
