Industrial Controls Engineer

Join our team as an Industrial Controls Engineer where you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems such as circuits, wiring, motors, servo drives, and relay logic. You will diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems and support equipment installation, commissioning, and integration into mass production. Your role will also involve leading problem-solving efforts to enhance safety, quality, and productivity, working closely with internal teams and vendors during machine trials, and ensuring equipment meets safety standards, including certification processes.

Responsibilities

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including circuits, wiring, motors, servo drives, and relay logic.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, and integration into mass production.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors during machine trials.
  • Ensure equipment meets safety standards and certification processes.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years in industrial controls and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with equipment installation, modification, and optimization.
  • Ability to identify issues, drive solutions, and track them through completion.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% and support critical build/launch phases.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in pre-production and launch support.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and quality data evaluation.
  • Experience in high-volume or cleanroom manufacturing environments.
  • Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience.

Work Environment

This role is based in Liberty, NC, and involves working in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment. You will have the opportunity to be part of a greenfield facility build from day one, working with advanced automation and manufacturing technologies. The position includes overtime, shutdown support, and hands-on work on the plant floor. You will be in a high visibility, high impact role during a major production launch, with long-term growth opportunities in a stable, global organization.

Benefits include 10 PTO days and 9 paid holidays per calendar year, with overtime compensated at time and a half. Travel arrangements for contractors are taken care of, ensuring a balanced work/life schedule.

This is a Contract position based out of Liberty, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr.
